While the core of Dailey’s art addresses the social and political issues of the external world as found in the project area, The Human Experience, he also questions internal dimensions of the human character. The first of these project areas is Personal Journeys, the cornerstone of which is 14 Stations at the Crossroads. This autobiographical series is a narrative of the artist’s life journey and a portrayal of the critical decisions that helped define his identity and character. The series reveals the full circle of his life, reflecting Edward Albee’s dictum: “Sometimes it's necessary to go a long distance out of the way in order to come back a short distance correctly.” After his long journey in art, government, and business, Dailey is back to where the journey began, in the arts.
